ABSTRACT

Roman Law and Common Law: a comparison in the outline offre un confronto tra i due sistemi giuridici più rivoluzionari per la storia occidentale, avvicinando il lettore agli istituti che hanno caratterizzato la loro innovatività e che possono essere inquadrati all’interno di una simmetrica linea evolutiva, evidenziando il progresso di due popoli dovuto all’intervento dei propri giuristi.

L’opera è stata poi successivamente revisionata dal Prof. F. H. Lawson1, sotto la correzione di Lord A. McNair2, co-autore della versione originale insieme al Prof. W. W. Buckland, mediante l’attenta, ma non invasiva ristrutturazione dell’impalcatura dei capitoli.

Roman Law and Common Law: a comparison in the outline offers a comparison between the two most innovative legal systems in Western history, bringing the reader closer to the institutions that have characterized their innovativeness and which can be framed within a symmetrical evolutionary line, by highlighting the progress of two peoples due to the mediation of their jurists. Subsequently, the first edition and the related structure of chapters of the writing were carefully but non-invasively restructured under the revision by Prof. F. H. Lawson and the correction of Lord A. McNair, who was the co-author of the original version of the work together with Prof. W. W. Buckland.
